Gennaro graduated from the University of Naples Federico II in 2013 with a BSc in Economics and again in 2015 with an MA in Economics. He then attained an M.Sc. in Economics and Econometrics in 2016 from the University of Edinburgh. He is expected to defend his PhD in Economics from the University of Strathclyde in Autumn 2022. Prior to joining the Department of Economics at the University of Sheffield, Gennaro was a Stipendiary Fellow at the School of Economics at the University of Edinburgh.

Research interests

Gennaro is an applied microeconomist interested in economics of education, health, urban studies, and crime. He focused on the effect of multi-grade classes on primary school attainment, determinants of school choice, benefits of free school meals as well as the effect of urban regeneration projects on crime.
