William was awarded a place on the Dean’s List for demonstrating his entrepreneurial and innovative spirit, developing a global view, and using his business acumen to support his student community

Going viral 

With 73,000 Instagram followers of his successful business ‘We Vintage’, William is already excelling in the professional world. After starting the business alongside his studies during first year, he shaped a number of his course assignments around his company and the fashion ecommerce industry, applying his learning to grow his business. William’s business reached the top 100 selling accounts on the Depop marketplace and turned over £100,000 in just a few months during his final year.

To reinforce his entry into the fashion and retail industry, William won a scholarship to study Fashion Management at Antwerp and Paris, and he participated in Sheffield Soup, a crowdfunding scheme for Sheffield entrepreneurial projects.

International perspective

William successfully applied for a summer school scholarship to study Entrepreneurship and International Marketing at ESADE Business School in Barcelona, where he widened his cultural perspective whilst studying with course mates from all over the world. 

He was also selected and funded to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Bahrain in 2019 with only seven other students, where he networked with entrepreneurs, investors and policy makers to seek their advice for young entrepreneurs.

University life

William’s entrepreneurial ambition has not taken away from his dedication to social responsibility.  As Treasurer of the Management Society he negotiated a one-year extension for the End-of-Year Ball deposit when it had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 

As a Student Mentor and Ambassador William supported his fellow scholars, and was praised for his skills in communicating with people from diverse backgrounds and for being an active member of his Management School student community.
