The Sheffield Confucius Institute will collaborate with the Information School at the University of Sheffield for a variety event of arts and crafts, music and poetry as well as short presentations about the Information School and the Sheffield Confucius Institute. Come on down to the Wave building, Workroom 1 at 2pm for a fascinating cultural and informational exchange! 

Day Schedule 

2pm - 3pm: Chinese Arts and Crafts 

Our sponsored teachers and staff will be ready to engage party attendees with a host of cultural activities, ranging from Chinese paper cutting, painting and calligraphy to Chinese language taster sessions!
 

3pm - 3:15pm: Drinks and Snacks

Pastries, juices and hot drinks courtesy of the Information School and Sheffield Confucius Institute!
 

3pm - 3:30pm: Presentations 

Short presentations from representatives of the Sheffield Confucius Institute and the Information school about what we do, our connections to China and Chinese culture, what we have in common and our wider vision for the present and the future.

Sheffield's Information School has always enjoyed a prestigious reputation in China's information and library information management academic community. Information School has consistently held the top position in the field of Information and Library management since 2020. Additionally, its performance in the British Research Council’s research exercise (REF) has been consistently excellent. The Information School’s outstanding performance has established its reputation in the Chinese academic community. This talk aims to make you feel proud to be an Information School graduate by telling you about our academic collaboration with top information schools in China and the achievements of our outstanding Chinese graduates. In this talk, I will also share my experience of being a Chinese abroad and what that means to me.
 

3:30pm - 4pm: Music and poetry performances

Staff and friends from the Sheffield Confucius Institute will entertain the audience with Chinese traditional musical performances and poetry readings.
