"If you are searching for a world-class university to study in the UK, I recommend you choose the University of Sheffield as your destination. The University offers its students a lot of opportunities."

How did you feel when you heard that you were successful in being awarded the scholarship?

I was so delighted because, for me, a scholarship was more than financial support. Winning a scholarship has helped me focus on my studies and also encouraged me to keep on improving myself and focus on being more hard-working in order to be a worthy recipient of my scholarship.

What made you choose to study at Sheffield and your course?

I chose the University of Sheffield because it offered the MA Applied Linguistics with TESOL, which was a combination of my interests, language and language teaching. The University of Sheffield also has a high reputation for research quality and for welcoming international students from around the world.

What was your initial impression of Sheffield and the University when you first arrived?

When I first arrived in Sheffield, I was impressed by the beautiful scenery and friendly people in the city. It was an eye-opening experience because I could meet different students from different places and learn more about the world. Despite living far away from my home country, Sheffield feels like a home as I can seek support from the University.

What are the highlights of your experience in Sheffield so far?

Having the opportunity to meet the many professional academics and to study in such a high-quality educational institute is one of the best experiences for me. The University inspires me in my aim of pursuing higher education.  Also, the cultural diversity in Sheffield has developed in me a new perspective and a better understanding of people from different cultures.
