Has your experience been what you expected?
The truly social nature of the Department as a place to research and work has been a pleasant surprise and I think one of Sheffield's real strengths.
What have you particularly enjoyed?
The Department offers a very extensive programme of seminars and speakers outside of its taught activities - particularly for us early modern folk. On top of the Research Seminars there are events hosted by the Sheffield Centre for Early Modern Studies, the Early Modern Discussion Group, assorted reading groups and other Centres in the University more widely. I have particularly enjoyed attending these events.
What are your plans for after you finish?
The White Rose College for the Arts and Humanities has kindly funded my PhD project, so I'm happily due in for three more years at Sheffield after my MA.
