Congratulations to Yasith Gedara who was nominated in targetsjobs UK’s 2025 awards for the Management Undergraduate of the Year!
For the past 15 years, targetjobs UK, in partnership with Enterprise Mobility, have carefully assessed and named the Top 10 Undergraduate students in the UK studying within the Management discipline.
To reach this stage, Yasith engaged with a rigorous screening process. This involved a CV application process, an online test and online interviews. The process culminated with an in person assessment centre at targetjobs’ head office in Egham, where he took part in a group exercise, a networking lunch, an individual interview and a role play exercise as a manager of a firm.
Throughout the process, Yasith showcased the skills and experiences he has gained throughout his time at the University of Sheffield and beyond, helping him to stand out above other Management students across the country as well as giving him the opportunity to meet other outstanding students.
We are incredibly proud of Yasith Gedara for being nominated as a finalist for the Management Undergraduate of the Year in the highly competitive targetjobs UK's 2025 awards. His success in navigating such a rigorous process truly highlights the exceptional ability, experience, and skills he has developed here at the University of Sheffield. Congratulations, Yasith – a truly outstanding accomplishment!

At the awards ceremony, which took place in April 2025 at The Pelligion in Canary Wharf, 14 categories were presented. Amongst hundreds of fellow students from other universities, Yasith was able to bring the University of Sheffield’s name to the stage as the sole representative from the University.
I am incredibly grateful to the staff at Sheffield University Management School and my mentor for their unwavering support since my first year. This achievement is a reflection of the collective effort of staff and alumni who offered guidance and encouragement, and helped me stay on the right path. This recognition shows me the value of the experiences I’ve built through my time at university and it motivates me to continue striving for excellence, and to give back to the community that has supported me.
