Congratulations to the SUMS Green Impact Team who have been awarded Bronze Standard for their efforts in 2020-21.

Green Impact Award 2021

Congratulations to the SUMS Green Impact Team who have been awarded Bronze Standard for their efforts in 2020-21.

The University of Sheffield has taken part in Green Impact since 2009/2010, as part of our behaviour change strategy to reduce our carbon emissions. Green Impact is all about rewarding positive environmental action.

This year the team created a sustainable cookbook with recipes submitted by staff and students and tips to help readers eat more sustainably. The cookbook was shared with SUMS students, staff and alumni, and with Green Impact teams across the University.

Working remotely offered opportunities for the team to promote sustainability in new ways including setting up a Google Room for the SUMS Green Impact Team (in lieu of the usual in-person notice board), monitoring at home recycling, and team member Suncana Doricic  trained up to become the School's Recycling Champion

Caroline Foster, Alumni & Communications Coordinator and Green Impact Coordinator, said “I’m thrilled that our hard work this year has been recognised and that we have been awarded Bronze Standard this year. Creating the cookbook was a collaborative effort and  I’d like to extend my thanks to everyone who played a role in helping us achieve this award.”
