My most favourite thing about Sheffield is its beautiful architecture and the various parks that it has. The other thing that I love about Sheffield is its student crowd which makes the place extremely safe.

Why did you choose your particular course at Sheffield?

I chose Marketing Management Practice because of the modules that it had. The company dissertation further attracted me towards the course. The practical nature of the course motivated me to take this course.

Why Sheffield University Management School?

I had heard that the marketing course at the University of Sheffield was one of the best ones and it was also a part of the Russell Group. This intrigued me to study at the University.

Prior to studying a Masters

I was studying Digital Marketing in India.

Concerns prior to studies

I did not have any concerns as such. The University of Sheffield website has all the information and hence it wasn’t difficult to get the details. The student union at the university were also very helpful which helped me to adapt to the environment pretty easily.

Course highlight

The professors and their way of teaching has been the highlight of the course so far. The various seminars that take place really helped in expanding my box of thinking.

Adapting to university life in the UK as an international student

The transition to university life in the UK was relatively simple. I was able to settle fairly quickly thanks to the University of Sheffield's orientation week, which included icebreaker activities, campus tours, and informational presentations. Additionally, the Management School provided an introductory week during which we were acquainted with the programme and met the coordinators.

Skills developed during degree

My communication abilities have advanced greatly. I was able to comprehend people from other countries better and develop my teamwork abilities by conversing with them and working with them on various coursework assignments. My ability to think creatively has been further enhanced by the course, which required me to use techniques for a variety of coursework as well as come up with new brands to create.

Plans after graduation

I am applying for various marketing placements at the moment and hope to start my own marketing firm after gaining experience.

How do you think studying this masters will help you in your career?

The theories that I am learning at the moment will help me apply it in my future years. Courses like International consumer behaviour will help me to understand the consumers better.

Any advice for students considering your course?

My advice would be that they follow the course and finish their reading each day so that it is not accumulated at the end. However, they should also focus on their well being and therefore enjoy themselves as well.
