Evaluation of Frimley ICS Community Mental Health Transformation Programme
Mixed methods evaluation of early implementer site of the NHS England Community Mental Health Framework.
Project overview
The Community Mental Health Framework for Adults and Older Adults (CMHF) establishes new models of “integrated, personalised, place-based and well-coordinated care” for people with severe mental illness.
In this study we are conducting a process evaluation of the implementation of this service in Frimley Integrated Care System (ICS), delivered through a partnership between Berkshire Healthcare, Surrey and Borders Partnership, and local VCSE organisations.
In this mixed methods evaluation, we will assess the impact of transformation work in Community Mental Health services, analysing routinely-collected data and conducting interviews and/or surveys with staff and service users. The study will generate rapid cycle learning on barriers and enablers and generate actionable learning for commissioners and providers in the region and in other sites nationally. The study will also generate wider research insights into organisational change in healthcare, focusing on system flexibility, culture change and system sustainability.
