Aoife was looking for a course that would give her hands-on experience working with skeletal remains. Thanks to being able to access Sheffield's human skeletal collection throughout her studies, Aoife now feels genuinely confident in osteology and around the complexities of studying the past.

Lizanne was drawn to the Molecular Biology and Biotechnology MSc as she wanted more advanced training in molecular techniques and their applications. During the course, she learnt how to plan experiments, troubleshoot when things didn’t go as expected, and think critically about data.

Daniel Hollard MSc Molecular Biology and Biotechnology

Daniel completed his MSc project at the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience (SITraN), focusing on the development of new viral gene therapies for neurodevelopmental disorders. He’s excited to be continuing this work as he embarks on a PhD in Gene Therapy and Translational Neuroscience at the institute.

Following years as a Geography teacher, sharing her passion for the environment with young people, Elizabeth chose to return to University as a mature student to gain practical knowledge to start a new career working directly in the environmental sector.
