What are your main responsibilities?

I manage the in-house evaluation team and lead a programme of work to evaluate and evidence the organisation's impact.

What other jobs have you had since graduating?

  • Social researcher on the children and families team at NatCen
  • Evaluation manager at Youth Futures Foundation

How has your degree from the School of English and your time at the University of Sheffield helped you in your career?

My SURE (Sheffield Undergraduate Research Experience) research assistant position and the research I conducted for my UG dissertation were my first intros to research, which I now have a career in outside of academia; I was chair of the welfare committee and still take on voluntary roles like this which have given me valuable leadership skills (e.g., I currently run a professional social research network for people of colour)

What is your greatest achievement to date?

My PhD!
