Clea joined the University in 2014 after many years working in Sheffield's public libraries. Starting in the Department of Urban Studies, then the Department of Geography, Clea took up her current role at the School of East Asian Studies in March 2019.

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with key academic staff on all issues for taught students while they are with the School of East Asian Studies, from Welcome Week to graduation
  • Administrative Disability Liaison Officer (alongside Academic Disability Liaison Officer), having general oversight of welfare issues, extensions, alternative assessments, change of programme, leave of absence etc
  • Unsatisfactory progress monitoring
  • Central contact point for all undergraduate and taught postgraduate learning and teaching matters, including maintaining and managing module and programme information, and contributing administratively to module and programme development
  • Oversight of all aspects of assessment and results processing - setting deadlines, release of marks, progression and degree awards
  • Member of the School's Executive Committee working on departmental policy, and member of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities Student Experience Managers Group
  • Oversight of maintenance and development of SEAS Student Handbook
  • Line management of the School of East Asian Studies Student Experience Team
  • Responsible for data return, eg HEFCE/KIS, TellUS and NSS surveys
