Research area: Transport
Transport is facing an evolution as we move away from the traditional combustion engines and embrace electrical technology. Our research covers both energy storage and how transport can be linked into the smart grid and help to power each other thereby ensuring maximum efficiency of energy use.
Here are our current research projects focusing on Transport.
TransEnergy - Road 2 Rail Energy Exchange (R2EE)
The project aims to develop technology that would ultimately see the batteries of electric cars parked at railway stations used to power trains.
