More Scott Trust bursaries for Sheffield

The Scott Trust, owners of the Guardian, Observer, regional newspapers and associated websites has decided to award two new postgraduate bursaries through Sheffield University’s journalism department.

This brings to four the number of Sheffield students it will be funding through its bursary scheme.

Two are for students on the MA/PgDip Print Journalism course, one on the MA/PgDip Broadcast Journalism course and one on the MA/PgDip Web Journalism course. The bursaries pay tuition fees plus a subsistence allowance of £5,000.

The closing date for applications for bursaries for the courses starting in September 2008 is March 9, and should be made directly to the Scott Trust as detailed on their website.

Applicants should also complete a Sheffield application form for the relevant course, attaching a note saying you have also applied separately for a Scott Trust bursary.

The Scott Trust encourages applications from graduates from diverse social and ethnic backgrounds.
