Lois joined the department in 2022 as a Research Associate, as part of the Nuffield Rethinking Domestic Abuse in Child Protection (R-DAC) Project. Between 2019 and 2022, she was a Fellow at the Department of Geography and Environment at LSE. She completed her PhD in Housing Studies at University College London. Her PhD examined social housing policies in the U.K. using Pierre Bourdieu’s theories.

Lois is interested in urban sociology and the intersectionality of gender, race and class. She is particularly interested in the interaction between agency and structure in the capitalist economy. She has a background in both quantitative and qualitative research.
