The hero of A-level English Language lessons is back! EngSoc are delighted to announce that the man, the myth, the legend, David Crystal will be returning to Sheffield yet again to host another incredible lecture! Crystal has authored over 120 books on language and is widely known for being particularly engaging and accessible.
Crystal's lecture, 'Child Language Revisited', reflects on some of the language changes that have taken place in the twenty-eight years between the first (1989) and second (2017) editions of 'Listen to Your Child'. From babbling to 'scribble talk', the lecture will illustrate various aspects of child language development, ranging from birth to early school years.
