Profile

My research is focused on the dynamics of workplace conflict during formal disciplinary and grievance procedures within the NHS. Formal procedures are often relied upon when informal resolution fails or not considered to be applicable; and whilst formal procedures are considered to 'contain' the conflict, in reality this is often not the case as formal procedures can lead to workplace conflict escalating. Specifically, my research will explore how individuals'' perceptions of fairness during formal procedures either escalates or de-escalates conflict, using case study and CIT methodology.
