Conference Banquet at Chatsworth House
Chatsworth House, located in the heart of the Peak District National Park, is the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. The magnificent house has been in the Cavendish family for over 16 generations and its splendid architecture and art collection have been evolving for five centuries. More recently, films such as Pride and Prejudice, The Duchess, and The Wolf Man were shot at Chatsworth. The estate has been the inspiration for works of popular culture, including Tom Stoppard's award-winning play Arcadia.
The evening will begin with a champagne and canapé reception in the extraordinary setting of The Painted Hall and Sculpture Gallery within the house, followed by a tour of the North Wing, taking in masterpieces from the Devonshire Collection. We will then move to the Carriage House Restaurant, completed by the 6th Duke of Devonshire in 1840, for the conference banquet.
Conference Tour to the Sheffield Brewery Company
Sheffield is well-known for the quality of its beers, brewed in a myriad of small breweries throughout the city and surrounding region. Many of the breweries can be found in an area of the city famous for its historic cutlery and tool workshops, Kelham Island. On Wednesday night, we are offering the chance to visit one of the breweries in Kelham Island, Sheffield Brewery Company. The Brewery is located in a historic building; originally a factory making 'Blanco' polish for British troops at the turn of the 20th Century. We will get a tour of the brewery from the Head Brewer, a chance to taste some of their award-winning beers, and some delicious pies to go with them, cooked just across the road. Wines and soft drink options will also be available.
