Environmental concerns at the forefront of staff research in music

Professor Nikki Dibben recently lead a symposium on the emerging topic of Ecomusicology and environmentalism at the 17th conference of the International Association for the Study of Popular Music. Nikki’s presentation on Icelandic popular music and environmental protest, was accompanied by presentations from Professor John Richardson, Professor Juha Torvinen (both from Turku University) and Dr Anika Mittendorf (University of Music and Dance, Cologne) on interpretive and phenomenological methods, and on sustainable practices in live music. http://iaspm2013.espora.es
