Profile

Dr Gulsirin Gok Muller is an expert in competition law and public policy. She joined Sheffield School of Law in 2021 from practice, specialising in multi-jurisdictional competition law investigations and transactions in various industries. She has particular experience and interest in complex abuse of dominance cases in digital and online retail markets. Gulsirin received her PhD from University in Strathclyde, Law School where she was awarded the Law School Campbell Burns Scholarship for her research. She has been invited to many workshops and conferences to deliver and present her research in the area of competition law.

At Sheffield School of Law, she teaches the Competition Law module for undergraduates, and ‘Company Law and Corporate Governance’, and International Competition Law and Merger Control’ for postgraduate law students.

She also sits under both the Employability and Student Wellbeing teams at the School of Law to co-ordinate professional and employability opportunities for our students. These include organising employability and mentoring events to build a bridge between students and potential employers from private practice and the public sector.

Her research interests include: policy objectives of competition law in developing countries; the enforcement of competition law and policy in emerging markets; and, the abuse of dominance in contemporary markets, i.e. digital platforms, online retail markets.
