- CELTA Courses

CELTA is an initial qualification for people with little or no previous English teaching experience and the most widely recognised English teaching qualification in the world. It's a great pathway towards beginning your career as an English language teacher.

We offer fully online, part-time DELTA Module 1 and Module 3 preparation courses at the English Language Teaching Centre, and also offer a Local Tutor service in partnership with NILE for Module 2.

- MA TESOL

MA TESOL is a postgraduate degree offered by the University's School of English in collaboration with the English Language Teaching Centre. On this degree you will gain practical teaching skills and classroom experience alongside theoretical knowledge in TESOL. You'll get advanced training in the theory and techniques of applied linguistics and have a chance to gain an internationally-recognised teaching qualification (TKT). You can also achieve professional recognition as TEFLi-qualified (certificate-level ELT qualification equivalent) based on criteria from Accreditation UK.
- Being a Teacher Trainer

A practical course for new teacher trainers.
Moving from teacher to trainer is not an easy step for even experienced teachers to make. Our fully online programme covers many common aspects of a trainer’s role from planning and delivering workshops to observing lessons and giving feedback to mentoring less experienced colleagues. The course has been designed to help new or inexperienced teacher trainers feel more confident as they make the transition from teacher to trainer.

Our Learning Technologies in EAP course is an online programme designed to help EAP teachers feel more confident and capable using technology in their classrooms and with their students.
The next fully online course starts on October 9 2023 and runs for 10 weeks until December 15 2023.

Our Corpus Course for Teachers is an online programme designed to help EAP teachers develop a greater practical understanding of how to use a range of corpus web tools with their students.

- Cambridge Exam Centre (B1 - C2)

Our centre is authorised by Cambridge Assessment English to offer Cambridge Exams. We offer multiple B1 Preliminary, B2 First, C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency exams each year, and can also arrange special one-off examination dates for groups.
